K is an extra in the lives of other people. Working as a professional mourner at under-attended funerals, he pretends to have had a special relationship with the deceased while they were alive. But while he successfully feigns meaningful connections to these dead strangers, he yearns for this kind of interpersonal relationship in his real life. He dreams of escaping the vicious cycle of his lonely routine but never makes these dreams a reality… until a day comes where he has no other choice.
